In my college english class, we had to read The Hunger Games as a report. I was like "Another boring book to read" After the first chapter though, I stayed up all night reading the rest of it XD

In early 2011, there was a kid in my class that was always going on and on about how great this book, The Hunger Games was. I asked him what it was about, and he was always telling me to just read it, I'd love it. I dismissed the thought for a while, and fell back into my Harry Potter obsession for a few months. One day, I saw it was on the library's most borrowed list at the library, and remembered the kid (Matthew) always bugging me about it. I looked it up on the computer in the library, and it had 20-something holds on it! I checked everyday for a month, but soon fell out of the habit. A few months later, I was at the library again, and, this time, The Hunger Games was #1 on the list. This time, when I checed the computer, it had 47 holds on it. That would take over a year for me to have it, so I went to the book store in the Winter of 2011, and I bought it. I started reading it, and I loved it sooooo much! I began to start bugging my friends about it, too, and now all of them have read it, but my one friend, who I have persuaded to read it (she's not big on reading, it's weird) and she's going to start next week.

I first heard of the Hunger Games when the movie came out, and I have this rule (that I try to follow anyway) where I read the book before I see the movie, so I was like oh hey? why don't I read the book? But of course when the movie was in theaters everyone on the PLANET was reading the Hunger Games so I couldn't get my nerdy little hands on it. Then, my dad was all like "Hey, we got free tickets to see the Hunger Games so yeah" and so I had to see it before I read the book, but I thought the stories were pretty close. I liked both the book and the movie. But, one thing I'm personally was really glad wasn't in the movie was the whole thing where at the end it's Katniss and Peeta and Cato and the muttations come up, ecxept they look like the dead tributes... UGH. That pretty much gave my nightmares just reading it. I think that's one of those instances where people just don't need a visual image of that. So yeah.
