So i got the Hobbit and read until the middle-ish part and I couldn't get into it. Like i honestly dreaded reading it. So I stopped. I dunno why but it was REALLY boring and confusing for me. Anyone else? (I know I'm gonna get hate for this lol) :3

I do know that this is the exact feeling I get when trying to read any and all parts of LoTR pertaining to Tom frigging Bombadil.
I swear to God. If The Doctor showed up on my street tomorrow, all "Hey, want some adventures in time and space?", I would hijack the TARDIS and I would go and find Tolkien, and lock him in a room with me until he gave me his word (an Englishmans word is his bond, afterall) that Bombadil would never be published. I hate it that much.

I also had a MAJOR issue with Bombadil. It was good book up to when he stepped in.

Haha strangely I found The Hobbit easier to read than the actual LotR trilogy! I thought that was supposed to be the case, seeing as The Hobbit is actually one of those children's classics.

The Hobbit is quite an easy read, in honesty, although frankly I prefer The Children of Húrin, and find it much less hard work. Tolkien kind of had a habit of writing round in cirlces a little bit, and no matter how much I love him, and think he's one of the greatest literary minds of the (pretty much) modern day, sometimes he gives me such a headache. xD
But yeah, Húrin is a much easier (and slightly more gripping) read.

I can understand where you're coming from, but i have to disagree. I abosloutley loved The Hobbit! It is a bit slow-going at first but once you get into it you can't get out. I actually prefer it to the LOTR books, i found those a bit slow and boring and i much prefer the films.
