K, so, I got City of Bones, City of Ashes, and City of Glass for Christmas from my uncle (the same man who introduced me to Star Wars, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings / The Hobbit and a whole bunch of other fandoms I squee over - I trust his judgment on picking books I'll like).
Now, I do not want you to tell me WHY I should read these books - I'm gonna read them anyways - I just want to know if there is anything in general I should know before I read them (prepare to get so sucked into the book you lose track of time, have tissues nearby, etc.).
PLEASE NO SPOILERS!

Prepare for constant action. Heart racing, etc. There are a lot of twists. Small details are crucial, because they always come up later on in the series. Prepare to fall in love with the characters. You will love them with your whole being, I'll promise you that. Cassandra Clare is an impeccable author. And because of this, the scenes of passion and hurt in the books are insanely realistic. Yes, you'll need tissues. I didn't cry until City of Ashes. But definitely prepare for tears, because you WILL become attached to the characters. You will get sucked in a lose track of time. You'll wish you were in the book series. You'll love Cassandra Clare's writing technique. You'll start pretending you're a Shadowhunter, no big deal haha. You've made such a great choice by reading them, and your uncle is a great man hahah c:

Make sure you tell us when you've finished the first book! I get so excited when people start reading the series, it's so amazing. I started reading the series when City of Bones first came out, and I read it in about two days. Have fun!

For some reason the first book was kinda easy to predict. It gets better.

I prefer The Infernal Devices over The Mortal Instruments. But yes, they get better. City of Fallen Angels being the best, in my opinion.

You have been warned. (lololol)

After the first book, all of your theories will be wrong. Or they'll be right for a little bit, wrong, and then right again.
