It was bound to happen eventually. Which so you prefer as a character? Who would you have preferred Katniss to be with? And lets be civil with this. I prefer Gale personally and have gotten bitched out a lot over it in the past. This isn't a place for fighting, just friendly debate.

I too am pro-Gale, for some reason I just never really liked Peeta, but liked Gale. Gale strikes me as a better match for Katniss, and she can't blame him for having the idea that killed Prim.

Personally, i not one for Team blank and Team blank. That thinking just divides the fandom. HOWEVER, I do think that Peeta is better for Katniss. But the way i think about it, is that each represents two sides of Katniss. I don't think it is a question of whom she chooses, but which side of herself she chooses to be.

Juuuuust kidding! I do think Peeta is the better character/person all around, though!

I definitely think she was right in choosing Peeta, because I don't think she could ever forgive Gale for killing Prim. I think that if she chose Gale she wouldn't be going anywhere in life, because he always wanted to fight for revenge and he would have voted for having the Capitol's children being sent into the arena. And that's just what Katniss was fighting AGAINST in the all the books, right? To get rid of this madness? Just my opinion! :-)

I was completely rooting for Gale the whole series. I was all 'ohmygawsh he's soooo badass and skillful and he looks out for her' but when it comes right down to it, if katniss had chosen Gale, Peeta would probably have died of a broken heart, whereas Gale was strong enough to carry on. It htink that after everything, Peeta deserved to get the girl. Another thing, and this is just a question, please don't yell at me, would anyone support Finnick/Katniss? Now, i know what you're thinking, 'what about annie, they're so lovely and amazing and cute together!' Well yes, you're right. I will always ship finnick/annie. But just say, in a world without annie cresta, would you support it?

I prefer Peeta, but I wasn't too into the whole love triangle part of the book. I cared more about how Katniss was going to help take down the Capitol than which guy she ended up with. I like both of the guys, I just think she had more of a bond with Peeta after the first Hunger Games and things really weren't the same with her and Gale after that.

Gale definitely. Peeta was always a little too perfect/nice, and I prefer the 'bad boys'/mysterious loner dudes.

I don't think Katniss / Finnick would work because they are both so scarred from the Games and the things that have happened, that if they were with each other I don't think they could have any happiness because they would always be remembering bad thoughts. With Annie he can at least remember the good times, but he didn't meet Katniss until the 75th Hunger Games.

This is a tricky question for me. The first time I read it, I was a bigger fan of Gale, but I just think that was because I always root for the "best friend relationship". The second time I read it, I appreciated Peeta more and liked them equally. Now, I think I am probably 51% Peeta and 49% Gale, but I don't know, Josh Hutcherson being cast as Peeta may have influenced my decision just a little bit. As for who Katniss belongs with... I guess Peeta would be the better choice. Just because of his personality. To be perfectly honest, I was kind of hoping for Katniss to end up single at the end of Mockingjay, with both Gale and Peeta close to her. Maybe down the line she would grow fonder of Peeta, but I think that she would have been great as a "single lady" (*immediately thinks of the Beyonce song*). Gale and Peeta never seemed to be the type to fight for Katniss's affection and I do not believe that they ever disliked each other, really.
I do have to say this, though: I do not think Gale deserves the hate he has been getting from fans after a certain event in Mockingjay.

I can kind of see your reasoning, but also, Annie is probably the most scarred from the games of them all. It drove her insane. Finnick has gone through soooo much, and he's still smiling and able to make Katniss feel bettter. He makes her laugh, which Peeta never does. That's another reason while i like Gale. They have fuin together, which is what she needs.

I would have to say Peeta. Gale just seems much too angsty, wanting to run off, doesn't care about anyone except himself and Katniss, really immature.
Peeta on the other hand is a kind sweetheart who cares about everyone around him, especially Katniss, yet still has that ferocity that helped him survive the Hunger Games.

I wholeheartedly disagree and my reason is why I prefer Gale so greatly to Peeta. As mentioned before, Peeta is almost too 'perfect' of a guy, especially in the romance department. But Gale is much more of a realist. He tries to find solutions to problems logically, where Peeta's all about self-sacrifice when it won't even get the desired results. When he said he wanted to run away from District 12, it didn't mean he was ready to. In the book, it describes how they can't and couldn't morally leave their families behind to starve. He wasn't really suggesting it as a selfish mean, but more so as a viable option. As for not caring about anyone other than himself, I have no idea how that conclusion is drawn. Everything he does and is about is rebellion. To free everybody from Panem's tyranny. He might be a little insensitive, but he's honest and brave. He understands sacrifice and death comes with war and understands he needs to come up with solutions with minimal death to prevent Panem from wiping out more Districts and causing more pain. He understands war is an ugly thing and knows how unrealistic sugar coating it is.
