It sucks how everyone is constantly hating on he Twilight Saga all the time. I mean, I just don't understand it. And becuase of all the hating, I feel like I can't be accepted because I like the books. I could try and redeem myself by saying the movies aren't as good, but the truth is that I was going absolutely mental on the run up to Breking Dawn Part 1. Anyone want to share there Twilight Hater experiences? It would be good to know the we aren't alone in this anti- Twilight society

ME!!! I wa only looking up to reading them for like 2 years but my parents wouldnt let me -_- and then I saw the movies and was mad because Rosalie wasnt pretty enough (dont get me weong shes really pretty in real life but as a blonde....not so much) and Bella was......awkward and I thought Rob Pattinson was the ugliest person ever. So yea the only people who didnt disappoint me were ALICE AND JACOB. Alice was my favorite and I have always been "Team Jacob" But it's kinda like Bella is such a depressing person. After watching Alex read Twilight on YouTube I noticed that Bella is REALLY depressing. (In my opinion) That's why Alice was my favorite person because she was just so DANG HAPPY all the time. OH and JASPER was also the best. Him and Jessica at the beginning was PERFECT! "And that's Jasper the one who looks like he's in pain." He was also one of my fav's but he's also a country person from Texas so that helps to. He was prettier than Edward in the movies. (Just Sayin) and when Jessica was talking about Edward in the movie and he just smiled. that was awesome. SORRY THIS WAS SO LONG. but not really

I guess Robert Pattinson looked so bad on screen because it's be impossible to play Edward. Stephanie Meyer is always going on about how they're fluid even in stillness, yet they're still rock solid, cold as ice, and have diamond facets in their skin. I love the description to pieces, but how are you supposed to portray that on a movie screen? I didn't read the books until New Moon came out in cinemas 'cause my friends were all talking about it. And I'm Team Edward in the books and Team Jacob for the movies. Basically, fantasy is my genre. The less realistic the better

I won't say I love Twilight, but I enjoyed it and thought it was a great story. I make sure I see the movies when they come out but they weren't very big with me, I was in a vampire junk food book phase where I read them so fast I didn't have time to think about fandoms.
Although I understand why people hate Twilight fans, I personally got annoyed myself but I truthfully can't talk much. I get a little crazy about Doctor Who and Harry Potter myself. Personally a big reason I got annoyed with Twilight in general is some fans took things to the extreme, and they over reacted, putting it nicely. But I think every fanbase has them, its just Twilight got really big really fast which teenage girls. So one minute every thing seems normal and then next theres tons of screaming teenage girls. It all, as far as I saw, happened after they announced the movies. I liked Twilight before the craze happens. I never really took part because from my stand point, there were better books, books I preferred. A handfull of overzealous fans basically ruined the name for everyone. Thats when most of the hate went into effect.
To this day I don't let the fact I enjoyed Twilight out until I know a person pretty well and know they won't get upset or offended that I like it. Thats kind of sad, but thats just how it is. I think people should be more understanding. From personal experience a lot of the people who hate Twilight fans are those who don't read, so I feel like they just don't understand what it means to really enjoy a story, to love characters so deeply. I feel like they are missing out. I think if a fellow book lover gets upset, they're just being silly because I'm sure they have a book they care greatly about, and if they don't some day they will.

I can not stand people who hate on Twilight! It's so crazy, most of their reason's are beacuse, "it's gay" or "Edward sparkles" and with that, I want to slap them upside the head. I can understand if they read them and didn't enjoy them or something but GAH.
Twilight haters are the most ridiculous people ever. It’s always the same jokes. Over and over again. “Omg Twilight’s about choosing necrophilia and beasitality lololol how unrealistic” Oh, yes. And a bunch of british wizards is much more plausible. An evil wizard with a wall socket for a nose is way more realistic. Of course. “When the love of Hermione’s life left her, she went on and fought in the war. When the love of Bella’s life left her, she cried for days and was depressed.” How DARE she? A teenage girl crying over a break up? PREPOSTEROUS! News flash everyone, Bella Swan and Hermione Granger are two completely different female characters in two completely different series of movies and books. You’re mad that Bella Swan didn’t pick up a wand and battle the big bad Volturi? Guess what? She’s not a wizard. She’s not a combat fighter. She’s not a knight. She’s a normal teenage girl who lives in Washington. Hermione’s a wizard (or witch) who has been training and exercising her craft for years. When Voldemort returned, she stood by Harry’s side and fought because she had been practicing for years and she did what she had to do. She was and is brave. But so was Bella Swan, in her own way. Bella did not pull out a gun and start shooting the evil vampires. She didn’t start kickboxing like she had been training for it all her life. She’s a normal, awkward, clumsy teenage girl who didn’t have any prior fight training or training in anything, really. She fell in love with a vampire and when his life or her life was in danger, she tried to help in whatever way she could. She rushed to Italy because she heard Edward was in danger of revealing himself and saved him. She voluntarily drew her own blood to lure Victoria away from killing Edward. So, yes, Bella was brave in her own way. Face it. You girls on Tumblr are more like Bella then Hermione. Hermione was an intelligent and brave witch with a big burden on her shoulders and a big war to fight. Bella is a teenage girl whose biggest problem, up until she met Edward, was getting asked to Prom. There’s no way you can even compare these two characters. I don’t see why people insist on doing so. I see that making fun of Twilight and everything associated with it is commonly accepted on internet and is even egged on. 90% of the internet recently started liking Robert Pattinson because throughout the promotion of Breaking Dawn, he was making cracks at it and “trolling.” But before that, he was the sparkly, fairy vampire. He always looked “constipated” or “in pain.” But the minute he made a couple of jokes against The Twilight Saga, he was a god amongst men.
I’m not even going to get into the hate against Kristen Stewart. Or the completely unnecessary comparison between Emma Watson and Kristen Stewart. That, alone, deserves a completely different post of its own. Surprisingly enough, I’m more a fan of Harry Potter than I am of Twilight.
GAH. I could go on for ages, but yes. I love Harry Potter more than anything, but it's almost embarrassing to be known amongst people who fight for equality yet hate on Twilight.
ALSO. SORRY THAT WAS SO LONG. I HAD A LONG RANT AND SOME OTHER SOURCES HELPING AND I COULDN'T SHORTEN IT.

The only thing I really don't like about Twilight is how Meyer set up the lore. I mean how in the world didn't Meyer come across vampires being burned by sunlight. Really? Vampire sparkle? Shapeshifters that turn to wolfs? Werewolves being weakened by silver would make it better. She could have made much more better dynamics with the story and not just focusing on the needing a boyfriend thing. But hey, not a hater. Just my least favorite series. Vampire getting burned by sunlight would make it much much better. And seriously, sparkling vampires is a BIG turn off to us guys. And that pretty much sums up the hate. Just sayin.

I don't like Twilight, but I don't get the point in bashing people for liking it. We all like different things and I just think of how I'd feel if someone was bashing me for my love of Harry Potter and Doctor Who.

Are you sure it wasn't meant to be a hater? I'm sorry, but it sure sounds like one. Twilight was meant for girls. The romance, the boyfriends, the love- totally for girls. The reason why she didn't make vampires burn is something original. Having them incinerate is a turn off for the INTENDED audience. This series wasn't meant for a bunch of violence-loving boys, or girls. It was for girls (or guys...) who like romance.

Mugglesmundanes, that was 100% exactly what i think. I could not have said it better. All these ridiculous "Still a better love story than twilight" posts make me want to punch something. Twilight is a good love story. It's fluffy, and cliche, but also plot-twisty, and dramatic. Where did all this hate even come from? Why would people even bother putting their energy into hating something so harmless? If you're going to hate something, and post harsh stuff about it, and act like even saying the word is swearing, then hate the murderers, or the rapists, or the child abusers. Not a fluffy love story, no matter how bad you think it is.

i read the books the first time and mostly enjoyed them but i also saw some flaws in the books and most of the necrophelia and bella was depressed stuff is just pure hate but you have to admit 1 bella is unrealisticly blasé about life 2 she is very gloomy for the first couple of chapters and anything after that without edward 3 she makes her decision about edward way to fast he comes up to her in the woods an admits he is a vampire and she doesnt een react she doesnt know him very well it obvious he is either bipolar or very tempermental and this could risk her life and shes taking this desicion very lightly I will leave you with that as a partial fan and a partial hater can you see my points from this prespective

Yeah, I agree with all of that. But i guess that it's mostly because of the stupid way that she wrote the book (from the middle onward, and them writing the beginning last) that their relationship is so rushed. My main issue with it is how much she complains. It gets boring. But then again, it's the thoughts of a teenaged girl, so I guess that would be realistic even if it's annoying to read.

I thought that the whole "sparkling in the sun thing" was a really artistic way of interpreting the myths surrounding vampires... What it comes down to essentially is that vampires can't go in the sun. That could be for any reason. They don't have to die. It makes sense that people would believe that they were burning if their eyes were suddenly assaulted by light reflected off every inch of a person's body. Then again, you could argue that you shouldn't fix what isn't broken- Vampires burning in the sun is a widely accepted myth surrounding vampires. But I think it's great what Stephanie Meyer did. She made the story her own. And the ridicule surrounding Bella's need for a boyfriend... Well, I can't really comment on that one. Boys are rock bottom on my list of priorities right now, they always have been. But from what I've heard, breakups are insanely hard and messy, so Bella's kind of... normal. Isn't that the whole point of Bella's character? She's just a girl! Aside from the fact that Edward can't hear her thoughts. It makes me sad that Robert Pattinson says all of those bad things about the Saga. It just shows that he's a weak person- he can't stand up to bullies, so he decides to join them instead, ridiculing the fans and Stephanie Meyer, the very people that made him so famous. But 90% of the internet think he's inspirational for hating the Twilight Saga, when in reality he's a terrible role model. It's despicable. Rant over. It wasn't supposed to be so long, but I just had to put this out there

I love whoever started this post (was it sashbash? I can't be bothered to scroll to the top) (oh and if it was - what you just said about rpattz. so true. he is . annoying)
What i seriously dislike about twilight haters - is that they are just so mean.! they just accuse and abuse and amuse themselves by saying horrible things baout people in this fandom -.- NOT COOL.
I like love stories , and romance and fluff and the sweetness. i think it's badass because they're vampires and shapeshifters and because jasper is a skux. and i think although it's not WOW OMG IT'S WRITTEN AMAZING it's still pretty dang good - better written then a lot of other stuff.
and all these people are like omg we hate you stephanie meyer - do they ever think about how she feels? She never asked for hate? She put a book out - and people liked it so much it became a best seller. And then other fandoms got so defensive and competitive and decided to put it down.
THEY MOSTLY HAVEN'T EVEN READ IT. they just think oh hey! let's join the hate . allalalalallalallalalalalla. AND I'M LIKE. ew. please at least read it. because fandom is about sharing the love. and not being mean and hypocritical. and kicking peopel out of conversations.
(to make it clear . in my mind there is a difference between someone who dislikes/kindahates twilight , and a hater - a dislike/kindahates person is fair enough - they made a decision it was not their scene and chilled away. a hate is mean . rude . and no representation at all of what fandom should be. <3
why is it so dang hard to keep these short? :0 oh well. procrastination from science homework is fun! i need edward right now to do my homework.

i totally get it. i hear twilight hate all the time. it's really irritating. i think it's uncool to hate something just because it's "cool" to hate it. or that the thing in itself is cool. yeah, it ain't a perfect book/movie, but we love it and people should respect that.
