Yes, for me, it's the story of a lifetime. Meaning I've grown up surrounded by the series and the world it contains, and it'll always hold a special place in my heart. In the first book, Harry is eleven years old, so yes he is young, and the book is suitable for a young audience. However, each book grows darker and the plot thickens and weaves together to create one heck of a journey

Okay, so when I was 11, I had the same attittude. I liked the movies, they were cool, you know? But the books didn't look that appealing, and they were long, and boring looking. Then my brother made a deal that he would pay me a dollar for every book I read (yeah, I was 11, so that was a lot). So I started, and let me tell you, I couldn't put the books down. Also it is full of symbolism for the literary nerds to pick up (don't worry if you're not into that stuff, you won't notice most of it if you aren't looking for it), and references to mythology, and the only reason I would want to have NOT read them is so that I could read them now without knowing what was going to happen. You'll love it, believe me. And as for hidden love plots, if there aren't at least five of those thickly entwined in there, then I'm not a nerd, and I'll become an athlete. Action, you'll be screaming at the book to get the characters to survive. Plot, you'll be finding out new plot bits years after you finish the series.

If these fantastic responses couldn't convince you, then take it from me. Even if you don't care about the plot lines, or how well-written the book is, or how attached you'll get to the characters, you'll still enjoy this books series. Because it's just plain entertaining. It's funny. Even though the series eventually gets darker, you'll keep reading, because you'll have been hooked from the start.
