I don't think this contains spoilers, but it might...so you've been warned if I accidentally ruined anything for you. Which I hope I didn't! <33
So throughout both the books, Matched and Crossed Dylan Thomas's "Do Not Go Gentle" and Tennyson's "Crossing the Bar", each have their roles and meaning in the story.
Dylan Thomas's poem says for Cassia, Ky and Xander to fight for what they believe in. Where "Crossing the Bar" in my interpretation, says something about death. But I think on a bigger scale in Crossed that Tennyson's poem could be talking about the Pilot of The Rising. What do you think?
Which poem do you like better? Or maybe one of these or both play a key role in your life?
I think it's actually really interesting and great that Condie incorporated two such amazing poems into her work. I absolutely love both these poems, each one rings true and thought provoking for me.

I always taken both poems to be fighting against death, which is all the characters are trying to do if you really boil down the plots! Or at the very least, it's fighting against the patterns everyone expects you to follow through life.
Out of the two, I'm a much bigger fan of "Do Not Go Gentle". There's no logical reason for that. I just like it better! ;D
