WOW i mean WOW. Just saw it and I LOVED It! They cast it perfectly, even Cinna (i didn't like who they cast at first). It was also quite tactful when they were killing people, it was so cool. The mutt made me jump so much!

the crowd cheered when SPOILER Thresh killed Clove. AMAZING!!!! I found it quite disturbing when people cheered for Cato and Clove's deaths. Because they were just kids, forced to kill each other, and I know they were trying to kill Katniss, but it's what they were raised for. Like Cato said in his HEARTBREAKING speech, it's all they know. It felt way too similar to the way the Capitol cheered when kids died, and it was kind of like, are we any better for the capitol? Cheering when someone gets killed? I know that's probably reading a bit too much into it, but it was still a bit eerie.

I adored Seneca!! He was so chill. Like, gimme a tree there! And then bam, tree. I haha Katniss XD She was so perfect though. What did you think of (SPOILER!!) Glimmer randomly spending the night in Cato's (hot) arms?I was laughing so much :L And when Rue stole his knife? Lol XD Yeah, Seneca was so awesome. Too bad he has to die. They couldn't have picked a better Katniss, in my opinion. JLaw was perfect. Haha, Glimmer/Cato was a bit strange to watch. Maybe it was a Take That to those of us who ship Cato/Clove? The part where Rue stole Cato's knife was really funny. I was like, "So, who did take it?" and then it cut over to Rue and I was like, "Ohh. You sneaky little girl! I love you already!"

Does anyone ember what Cato said in his speech at the end? I love that they'd shown he'd become unhinghed but even though the cinema was silent I couldn't make out a word he said!

I was SO upset when they missed out the "stay with me Clove" bit. I hope it's in the deleted scenes or something

Cant get over how much Clove scared me though. And Catos speech was awesome. Jennifer Lawrence was AMAZING. I couldn't imagine anyone better for Katniss. Did anyone else notice how she was shaking before she went in the tube? Yea. Only a truly amazing actor could do that. What about Willow? (Prim) screaming on the ground? Honestly, that brought me chills. Rue talking to Katniss when she's dying? THE ACTORS WERE PERFECT. Although with the pictures of Foxface in her green dress I could SO see her as Annie Cresta-Odair. Anyone agree?

I really liked the use of silence in the beginning. A lot of movies always play background music but they didn't in the beginning and it made it really unique and realistic.

WHEN RUE HAS THE KNIFE! "That. Is. Mahogany!!!!" Senecas death was awesome so was Catos speech. Gale is a buzzkill though. Agreed. They needed more Gale! He only had about 10 minutes of screentime in an almost 2 and a half hour movie! It was a bit sad. NOT ENOUGH CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT! and no Madge??

I watched the movie at 8PM on the 22nd because I couldn't wait! When the oppurtunity presented itself to watch the movie before it came out I just could resist. Even though the movie ended just before midnight and it was a school night! So happy. I was expecting the important quotes but most of them weren't in the movie, like (SPOILER) Stay alive, It was all for the games, etc. And I really loved all of the actors. Haymitch, Effie, and Peeta were perfect! I loved Katniss, but something was missing that I can't put my finger on... And I loved Seneca Crane! But now we're never going to see his beautiful beard again Do you think Plutarch Heavensbee will have an epic beard too? Then there'll be ship wars between Team Seneca's beard and Team Plutarch's beard... This needs to hapen!

I loved the movie but it definitely made me so mad! So much stuff was missing or just completely wrong! Like how she is supposed to drug Peeta, how Cato is supposed to be chased by the dogs and that's how Peeta and Katniss find him, the part after the reaping where Gale starts to tell Katniss how he loves her, then the big thing was how at the end when they're on the train, Katniss is supposed to tell Peeta how she was confused and wasn't really sure of how she felt about him! Grrrrrr........the movie was really good though! I've already seen it 5 times and its definitely worth it!

I think that the movie is like, 99.999% perfect. All i wanted was the Clato scene, but i guess it wouldn't have worked with the actors' age difference and stuff.

I saw "The Hunger Games" last week, within hours of finishing the book, and thought it was fantastic! I thought they stayed true to the spirit of the novel and that all the main characters (Katniss, Peeta, Gale, Haymitch, Effie) were perfectly cast! If you're interested, I wrote a more in-depth review on my blog at: laurapaulson.blogspot.com/2012/04/more-hunger-games.html#comment-formI'm already looking forward to the reported August DVD release!
