I wholeheartedly disagree and my reason is why I prefer Gale so greatly to Peeta. As mentioned before, Peeta is almost too 'perfect' of a guy, especially in the romance department. But Gale is much more of a realist. He tries to find solutions to problems logically, where Peeta's all about self-sacrifice when it won't even get the desired results. When he said he wanted to run away from District 12, it didn't mean he was ready to. In the book, it describes how they can't and couldn't morally leave their families behind to starve. He wasn't really suggesting it as a selfish mean, but more so as a viable option. As for not caring about anyone other than himself, I have no idea how that conclusion is drawn. Everything he does and is about is rebellion. To free everybody from Panem's tyranny. He might be a little insensitive, but he's honest and brave. He understands sacrifice and death comes with war and understands he needs to come up with solutions with minimal death to prevent Panem from wiping out more Districts and causing more pain. He understands war is an ugly thing and knows how unrealistic sugar coating it is. Ellie, I now make you the official representative for Team Gale. Haha! Thanks! I think writing 120 chapters of a fanfic trilogy where he was a very predominant character really made me understand his mindset a lot more. But he really was the most real character in my opinion in the books.

I'm definitely going to have to check it out-- I am in desperate need of reading some good fanfiction! But, wow, 120 chapters? You go, girl! And I definitely agree. Like you said, he was brutally honest, which was most certainly needed for a story with such a twisted, realistic plot. You could always count on Gale for a good reality-check.

Just throwing in stuff here but why are we talking about Teams? As lots of people have said it sounds a whole like like Team Edward and Jacob?! We should have our own Hunger Games thing instead do teams like twilight!

It's pretty one-sided as I think that there were never any real romantic connections between Katniss and Gale. Someone may like Gale better than Peeta, but I don't think Katniss ever had any romantic feelings about him. However, you have two awesome male characters in a popular book series-- Teams were bound to happen. I think it's a fun question to talk about, just not something you should obsess over. The love triangle certainly wasn't close to being a major plot in The Hunger Games.

I agree because most books have some sort of love triangle but the Hunger Games weren't just focusing on that like Twilight (bleh) Thats what I love about this book! It doesn't pull away from the whole romance stage but then there isn't much of it bringing in the action side! This also helps in a way make is also a target audience for males not just females! (Like Twilight)

It's make me squeal with joy whenever I see a male post on here about The Hunger Games or see a male peer reading The Hunger Games at school.

To be honest- I have turned off every guy in my school from reading the Hunger Games. Cause I have a tiny school of 200 everyone knows everybody. I think my constant yapping about the Hunger Games made up theirs minds not to read it! (sigh) But when the trailer came out it convoked a heck of a lot of the to start reading it! I even convince my 18 year old male cousin who hates romance to read it and he loved them!

My school has almost 2000 so I have found that it's nearly impossible to learn everyone's name. I think the trailer really has sparked interest. Just a couple weeks ago this guy I sit beside in Biology finished with his test and pulled out a copy of The Hunger Games. I had a mini-spazz attack. I seriously had to give myself a couple of minutes to calm down. Right when everyone had completed their test, I turned to him and said, "You. Are. Reading. The Hunger Games." He looked at me like I was crazy and I then realized that I had talked so fast he didn't hear a word I said. I had to act all nonchalant, although I was freaking out inside! AND BLAB AWAY!!! EMBRACE YOUR OBSESSION!!!

I brought my Hunger Games book with me and when we made it to the top my best friends boyfriend tried to throw the book in the water. I kicked him in the balls xD
