Catching Fire was my favorite out of the three and I constantly reread Mockingjay. Haha, you can't speak for everyone.

I do agree to a degree here. The first book was fantastic and the other two don't compare. I particularly hated the ending and -puts on flame proof jacket- I hated Peeta through and through. But I don't think THG is overrated overall. I mostly just think Peeta is.

Trolls aside, I do agree with lady Ellie. I think the first book was quite good indeed, the second was okay and the third was just plain weird.
And yeah, Peeta is a tad too naïve for me. I don't think he's overrated though, he just doesn't fit me.

I loved the first book with all my heart. I loved most of the characters, Peeta wasn't one of them though. BUT That is just MY opinion. I don't think the series was overrated though. It's not a bestselling book for no reason, it's just not your taste.

While I don't think all of the humongous fangirlling it gets is deserved and I'm kind of tired of it, I still think it's a great series and worth a read. It's not perfect, but nothing really is.

Macy, I'm struggling really hard over here not to let you have it for that comment. At any rate, I'm very fond of the whole THG trilogy (though they're certainly not without their problems, and that goes for all three books). But the only thing that really burns me up is how Gale is pretty much dropped like a bad habit by the end of the third book. I mean, no sense of a completed character arc with him at all, unlike Peeta or even (to a lesser extent) Katniss.

Love the concept, love the plot, fascinated by the universe... Hate Katniss, wish she'd die. She's asympathetic, unhumorous, unpleasant and not a good person. Yes, she cared for about three people. But she led a boy on to save her own neck, has no sympathy or redeeming personality traits and while strong, is still not a PLEASANT person. I feel the books should have been in third person, because reading it straight from the head of this harpy just killed it for me.

She did not lead Peeta on to save her own neck; she lead him to save both of their necks.
