So I didn't see anything related to Gone on here, so I thought I'd add a thread. Gone is basically about this small town in California where one day everyone 15 and older disappeared. Other weird things started happening too, like animals mutating, kids developing powers and a mysterious creature living in a mineshaft outside of town. It's a great series and I recommend reading it if you haven't yet.

I've read the first one, and most of the second, but i stopped because it got a bit heavy and confusing and if i'm honest parts kinda grossed me out. I was also reading other stuff. But now i'm considering re-visiting it, but i have to ask, is it worth it? Like, do they get better? Not sure i can handle much more rotting babies or people getting eaten alive. The main reason i stopped reading was because those wolf things and the thing in the mine confused me so much. Is it explained later on?

Well a lot more is explained, but the series does have a lot more disturbing and sad stuff happen, just to warn you. The coyotes are barely in books 3 and 4 though and Ive heard (from someone who read an ARC) that more about the Gaiaphage is explained in book 5 (which is coming out in April)

My sister's reading them at the moment, and she's eleven so i'm pretty sure I could handle the disturbing stuff. But if i did i'm going to have to read them from the start, and as i said before my library is a disaster. But I think i'm going to have too. yes, i shall. the first step is to pay my overdues and get my card unblocked, so that i can place reserves. :/

If you're up for reading ebooks, there's ebooks of the whole series (well all the books that are out so far) online to read.

I've been slowly getting them from the library when I'm home on vacations- I read the first a while back, and the second over the summer, and I have the third out right now but I haven't started it yet. I find them to be really good, but some of the disturbing parts are kind of over-the-top for me, especially considering that the characters are so young... for some reason it almost bothers me more than the Hunger Games- perhaps because the characters seem more naive to things, and just in general younger...not to mention that in the Hunger Games it's a government organizing things, whereas in Gone people like Cain are kids themselves.

Oh my Gods, I love Gone. The whole plot is just amazing, with a brilliant writing style, wonderful characters and...well it's just overall supreme. And, I'm only 13, and I didn't find it hard to cope with anything.

Read the first two, but the third one started to loose me. Didnt so much as gross me out, just more like it was too Lord of the Flies for my taste.

My favorites, of which I have far too many, are Diana, Duck, Dekka, the Breeze, Sinder, and Drake.
And what are your thoughts of the Brianna/Jack vs. Brianna/Dekka shipping war?
