I had never heard about the seiries until 2011 january. I was in the library, trying to find a book of my style - I just picked it up, because of it's covers (they're really cool). And then after reading the first book in five hours I went back to the library to borrow "Catching Fire" and read it in few hours. Then when Mockingjay was translated to Finnish (since I live in Finland and speak Finnish) I couldn't get it anywhere. So, I had to wait until june, until I got my book. Now, my brother has bought me the first book and Mockingjay. He can't find Cathing Fire with hard covers. I have exactly 3 true THG-fan friends and 1 that thinks she's a fan, but didn't even remember how Rue died. And in school my literature teacher hadn't even heard about it!

I saw everyone on twitter talking about the Hunger Games and I was like 'WHAT IS THAT?! WHY DOES EVERYONE LOVE IT SO MUCH' so I went to the bookstore in my town but I couldn't find it anywhere. A couple of weeks or so later I went to Amsterdam and it was in the American Bookstore. Now I'm obsessed with it too. THANKS TWITTER.

It's been like a year....year and a 1/2 or so. Here's my story:
I needed something to read on the flight home from vacation. My mom had bought me the Hunger Games and had forgotten to tell me so on the plane she gave me the book and I opened it, falling in love. I read the most of it on the plane and the rest on the car ride home. I got Catching Fire the next day. My friend wanted to know what I was reading my first day to school from my va-ca and so I told her. I was the one who brought the series to my school. Almost my whole class has read it and most of the teachers. The friend and I are hooked and such nerds that's all we ever seem to talk about anymore.

Ive heard of the book series for a while, but never got into it. Then a few months ago the trailer came out and two people I follow on tumblr were posting their thoughts and the trailer like crazy. I watch the trailer and it looked awesome! Now to just read it.

I actually was a very early reader in this series. I read it in November 2008. A month after it was released! My cousin let me borrow it since I'm such a bookworm. And a lot of fans are lucky, most of them got to read book after book. But I had to wait a year between since I read it when it first came out.

Since I had only just discovered the wonders of the internet, I found a review on another website and borrowed the first book off my friend. When I was done I went down to the bookstore as soon as possible and bought my own copies of the trilogy. When I read it I didn't know it had such a big fandom, or that it was going to be made into a movie Me and my friend have such different tastes in books though, and I almost passed up on the chance to read the series! I'm so glad I did.

Me and my friend when into a bookstore about September 2008, and we saw this book just like...sitting there. And my friend was like "What's the Hunger Games?! Is it when hobos fight over food because their hungry?" I was like " How about I read it and find out." So I bought it, and and sat in my room all day reading that book. It was so good, every word just captivated me. Then the next day I called my friend the nest day and I was like "YOU HAVE TO READ THIS BOOK!" so she did, and she loved it! So when "Catching Fire" and "Mockingjay" were released, we were like, the first ones in line to get it.

Through one of my best friends Jayden. NOW I CONSIDER HIM AN EVEN BETTER BEST FRIEND BECAUSE THE HUNGER GAMES IS AMAZING AND I WOULDN'T HAVE ALREADY READ THEM IF IT WASN'T FOR HIM. I'd seen a lot of people reading them at school at the beginning of last year, but I don't really trust any one's opinion on books unless I know them personally or I agree with their book taste. But Jayden has impeccable book taste, and I'm glad I listened to him c:

I was sitting in English 1 in the 8th grade when one of my friends got up to do her book talk and it was on the Hunger Games. At the time i thought that i wouldnt like it so i didnt read it. Then the summer before i went into the 9th grade, i read it and fell in love with it!!!! Everytime i hear somebody say i need a book, I say have you read the Hunger Games? I went out and bought the Mockingjay pin, bracelets, t-shirts, collectors editions (my orginal copies are so torn up now that the covers are falling off! they've been all over the US!), and i even occanisionly braid my hair like Katniss and quote some of the things they say!

I first heard about it listening to Mugglecast. They were giving away The Hungers Games for free through Audible. Just another reason why HP and THG are legit(:

All my teen students were reading it, just after they finished all the Percy Jackson. Valerie Frankel, author of Katniss the Cattail: An Unauthorized Guide to Names and Symbols in Suzanne Collins' The Hunger Games HarryPotterParody.com

I first heard about The Hunger Games in 2010 when I was looking for a good book series to read at that time. It sounded interesting, so I read a couple chapters at the book store and liked it. Bought all three, finished them within 5 days. I'm quite an avid reader.
