Could it be I spy with my two eyes a troper before me? What's a troper? (I swear, I'm so out of it, today.) A Troper is anyone who regularly searches and reads tvtropes.org. Ive lost alot of hours to that site. Buts its a really great tool to use when writing.

The Apollo kids totally are the red shirts! Which is stupid, cuz they're awesome!
They should be engineering officers and not security. Then they'd live and not be expendable yet they can still not contribute much to the plot. =]
And if Rick Riordan kills off Will Solace, I'ma hurt somebody. -_-

No, a redshirt is someone who is entirely useless to the plot, has almost no lines, and most of the time doesn't even get a name. And usually wears red. For more info, see here: tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/RedShirtExample: Those kids who died in the bloodbath of Katniss's Games. Could it be I spy with my two eyes a troper before me? Yes yes yes, I am indeed a troper.

I love the Apollo kids!
Now i was thinking - y'all know how the prophecy ends "And foes bear arms to the Doors of Death." Maybe he has to shut a friend who died in? like he has t sacrifice a friend to join forces to close of the doors of death and defeat all the evil does that even make sense? haha

That.... kinda makes sense. Hopefully if it involves anyone dying, an Apollo kid won't get sacrificed. =/ Cuz RR needs to stop killing them off. -_- Like Michael Yew. That kid could have been such an awesome character!!!

I kind of hope it's a more major character in a way. It might sound weird, but I kind of like books where sad stuff like that happens.

It would suck if both of his kids died. It's bad enough that Pollux lost his twin (Castor's the one who died, right?)... It would depend on the character for me to get too sad about it... If it's something like Thalia, I'd be sad.

Annabeth better not die either!
I love the fatherly Mr D <3 and Pollux and Castor ( i think Castor died)
on another topic.. Did anybody else appreciate how the last names of the cabin leaders usually related to their parent?

I think the most obvious ones are the Apollo kids though... Solace, Yew, and Fletcher come to mind. =] 2 Archery related, one sun related.
I think it's a nice touch. =]
I also like fatherly Mr. D but I also like to think of Apollo that way, cuz to me, the reason why he has so many kids is cuz he leaves very few of them unclaimed, and even though it's a small gesture, it shows he cares. I try to write him like that when I write him in fanfiction, cuz most of the time he is portrayed as a) an idiot b) a self-absorbed asshole or c) laid-back, crappy haiku writer and nothing else.... He needs to be more multi-dimensional. =/

I love his haikus too. XD I was hoping to hear the rest of that limerick that Zoe started to recite in The Titan's Curse! But yeah, I agree. He is all 3 of those things plus more. Like, in TTC, he demonstrated that he can be serious, even if he is super immature most of the time. I kinda wish we got a better physical description of him cuz I can't picture what he looks like in my head!

I agree with all of this. There are many things that could happen but I don't know how he could end it in only 3 books. That would be crazy. I just finished SON so I'm all ready for the next book. I love Apollo. I would sooo be on of his kids.
