I was quite surprised to see that this trilogy was missing from this fandom. It's one of the most well-written series with a female protagonist who is as strong in her own way as Katniss Everdeen. And it's set in the late nineteenth century, England. Seasons and beautiful Victorian backdrops, anyone? Add a sprinkling of magic in the form of realms so beautiful where anything one desires could be hers. Has anyone here read them??? I love how all the characters are so raw and real. I can completely relate to Gemma's insecurities and the ending was just so sad. I'm hoping that they get a move on with producing the movie, because I think it'll just be so fantastic to see it all on the big screens!

I have read the first two and have yet to read the third, but I have really enjoyed them! I\love the writing style and I agree with you on everything. None of the characters are perfect - they're all flawed, and that makes them all realistic. Plus each of them has a different facet in their personality. I started off disliking certain characters but ended up liking or feeling sympathetic towards the characters I never expected. Plus the storyline itself is interesting and eerie at times. And oh no, I'm a crier so if the ending's sad, looks like I'll be weeping.

I can't get over how great this trilogy is! I was to captivated by the book cover and was even more when I read the first book that I just went and bought all three books when they were published. I love the fantastical theme in the 19th era. It's such a great mash up of two different settings it gives the story a great variety. And what's not to like about balls, boarding schools and Gypsy's. Also, I love the names Libba Bray chose for the characters. Alike, many book nerds Gemma is one name I'm keeping on my list of kid names.
