Just so everyone knows, "During the negotiations between Fox, Walden, and the C.S. Lewis Estate, the film option that Walden Media owned was allowed to expire and Walden Media no longer has exclusive purchasing rights to any further Narnia films.... And while Walden and Fox have confirmed they are both interested in making more Narnia films, our understanding is that, by law, the C.S. Lewis Estate must wait a certain period of time (called a moratorium) before they can sell the film option for the Narnia books again. And when they do, it will be available to any film company out there interested in bidding on it, not just Walden and Fox." full article hereThe moratorium is expected to last a few years, and until that time, no production plans can be made, as it is entirely in the hands of the C.S. Lewis Estate. Also, yes, there were plans of possibly making The Magician's Nephew next, but the domestic performance of VDT did not meet their minimum needs to continue the franchise, hence the quotes above. clickySo basically, this post/thread is to just make sure everyone is on the same page. The ABSOLUTE EARLIEST we can get a new Narnia movie will be in "3 or 4 years".

Phooey. I really wanted to see a GOOD film version of The Silver Chair, since that's my favorite Narnia book.

Phooey. I really wanted to see a GOOD film version of The Silver Chair, since that's my favorite Narnia book. Same here. Though I really wanted The Horse and His Boy and The Magician's Nephew since they have never been made into films while the other five have (granted, not the BEST films, but at least they exist!)

I think that the Horse and His Boy would be really cool. It would give us a look into the Golden Age.

I know HHB is a lot of people's favorites, but really I would love to see what kind of effects would be used for MN. Though I have to agree with you HHB would be probably the most intriguing, especially due to the setting and characters. One of my favorite parts about the Narnia books is that you will read them and there will be hints of other stories: the glimpse of the Pevensies in the Golden Age in HHB, the never-told story of the Narnian isles in VDT, they are everywhere.
(by the way, I know I use acronyms a lot out of habit, so for future reference, here's my Narnian code (in publishing order): LWW- The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe PC - Prince Caspian VDT - The Voyage of the Dawn Treader SC - The Silver Chair HHB - The Horse and His Boy MN - The Magician's Nephew LB - The Last Battle)

I really hate when things like this happen to movies based on books. They're never the same, and would not go over well in theaters if there was that amount of time between now and the next movie. Its rather frustrating because I love the way the movies are. I think they have done an amazing job with them.
