i looked at the back cover and it says for Eleven year olds? Do you think they would understand the book? What about handle some of the deaths and stuff? Your opinion?

Some 11 year olds I do think are mature enough. I know plenty that read them around 11 or young 12 and were fine.
Some, however might not do so well. But I think some could handle it easily.

i would say like 9-10 would be fine so 11 would be exceptional with it. also how bored are you if your looking for that on a book?

I know a 10-year-old who read the first book and she was fine with it, so I'd say no younger than that.

Well, think of the content. While people as young as 9 or 10 read it, the violence is something to think about. Imagine it as, say, explicit romance. Can young people read it? Sure. But would you say it was suitable?

I think they can read it. But I don't think an 11 year old would be able to understand some of the deeper themes of the books, like the role of a government in society and so on. But other than that, I think it's fine.

^ I was thinking the same. Even though they won't really understand the deeper themes, they can still read it. Although I don't think the age for the movie will be 11+.

It depends on the person. I'm sure there's some 10-12 year olds who can handle it easily, but I'm sure there's some adults even who'd get freaked out by it. Personally, I read it just after I turned 16 and was surprised by the content enough to love the books, but it didn't scare me/badly upset me or anything like that.

I was 11 when I read the first one and I understood everything fine. I got the deeper concepts easily.

Yeah, if you're 11 and mature for your age, I don't see why you shoudn't be able to read it.
