Apart from the really gross scenes, I really like Gone. The story itself is intriguing and really leaves you guessing. Favorite character(s): Diana, because she's really complex in that she loves this power-hungry guy who has basically become a psychopath, yet you get the sense that she's strong enough in her own right; she doesn't need a guy to take care of her. Caine, because he IS that power-hungry psychopath, and he's also the abandoned twin, which adds more of a complex motive to what he does. Astrid used to be one of my favorites, especially since I could relate to her so much through her having a brother with Autism, but she kind of turned out to be, er, not that great. Little Pete, because no one understands him, and he is very much in his own world, but in a way that he has a secret above everyone else, and is capable of more than anyone can imagine. As for the Jack/Brianna/Dekka love triangle, I'm pro-Brianna/Dekka, even though I know it won't happen. I feel like Jack lacks the maturity to truly have deep feelings for Brianna other than a puppy-love type crush.

I've been slowly getting them from the library when I'm home on vacations- I read the first a while back, and the second over the summer, and I have the third out right now but I haven't started it yet. I find them to be really good, but some of the disturbing parts are kind of over-the-top for me, especially considering that the characters are so young... for some reason it almost bothers me more than the Hunger Games- perhaps because the characters seem more naive to things, and just in general younger...not to mention that in the Hunger Games it's a government organizing things, whereas in Gone people like Cain are kids themselves. I get what you're saying. And actually, that could partly be that the kids really are younger than most of the ones in THG. I mean Sam and Caine are the oldest kids in the series and they're only 14 at the beginning. That's 2 years younger than Katniss.

Right now I'm in the middle of the first book. I like it a lot, actually. It's really different. I'm anxious to know what happens. My friend recommended it and I'm really happy I listened! I'm at the part with the bricks being zapped off of every one's hands.

Ooh, good part! It's pretty important for the rest of the series too... you'll figure out why soon.

I love this series! really need to re-read it though, some parts confuse me, there are so many characters to keep track of... My favourites, from what I remember, have to be Edilio, Dekka, Brianna and Lana

I actually talked to Michael Grant last night (he came on a chat I was on to talk to some of us fans) and while he didn't give away much at all about Fear, it was cool hearing what he had to say and discussing the books with him.

I am in definite need of Plague in my hands at the moment! I finished reading Lies a few months ago, but I haven't had the money to buy Plague at Barnes&Noble lately. -screams-
But, besides that, I am quite in love with the books. Well, not quite in love, but in great interest. (:

I was really cheap and lazy and ended up reading the last two books online. There are free ebook versions and I had a hard time finding them elsewhere. XD

I get why someone would be intrigued with them, the bad guys are interesting and unique, but I honestly prefer Sam, Edilio & co.

Drake -- Gah, I am so not seeing anything sparkle in him. As well as Caine.. Well, in a way, I honestly do, but it's just a little bit of light. Meh.

Drake... yeah he's not good at all. Even MG said he doesn't get why he has so many fangirls. He's definitely an interesting character, but it's hard to actually like him when he hurts and even tortures some of my favorite characters, implies that he wants to rape some of the girls and attacks the town for pretty much no reason.
