Okay, so I was just reading CoG and realised something, might be nothing..but it's been bugging me. We find out that all the Herondales have a star shaped birthmark. Yet in the CoG, there a part in it where Clary notices a scar in the shape of a star of her mum " Jocelyn's hands twisted in her lap. They were laced all over with fine white scars - the fine white scars all Shadowhunters bore, the memory of vanished Marks. But Clary had never really seen her mother's scars before. Magnus's magic had always made her forget them. There was one, on the inside of her mother's wrist, that was very like the shape of a star..." (p368) Not sure if anyone else picked up on that..but i'm kind of lost. There must have been a reason for it, otherwise it wouldn't have been put in. Any ideas??

The Herondales don't have a star birthmark. It just looks like a scar

But that still doesn't explain why Jocelyn has one.
and as I said, it must have been put in for a reason

Jocelyn's scars are left over from Shadowhunter runes.

Please correct me if I am wrong, but I think you get a star mark when you see an angel (I think? If i'm wrong, It's the tracker Jacker venom talking ) so, maybe Jocelyn has seen an angel before? Maybe it'll make more sense in COHF

Jocelyn's scars are left over from Shadowhunter runes. Are you sure about that? Because if you're not...
